Hi ho fiber friends Natures stitches here or kat if you prefer. A lot going on in the month of October as you well know ; a lot of things on the needles and some ready to cast on . But first, a couple photos for your viewing pleasure.   These are photo of wild (yes wild!) horses in Carson city Nevada.  They just wonder the park among-st the people, each keeping a fair distance from each other. Such lovely creatures, the one I call socks seems to be a bit more curious when it comes to people. A wonderful sight to see and a delight to watch them as they roam the park uninhibited and content. I recently down sized my craft studio where I purged a lot, it took me 5 full days and I'm about half done. hopefully in another month I will do it again and get it finished. Keep in mind  I’m not just a knitter. I cross stitch ,  a quilter. I create art with gourds, clay, buttons, jewelry and costuming. In short;  I had a lot to purge.   Back to the knitty stuf...

Hi ho fiber friends Natures stitches here, We all seem to have so much going on while for most of us it’s still masks and social distancing.Yet it still would seem, there are not enough hours in a day to get done what we had hoped to accomplish. I did put the finishing touches on my daughters/ editors 40th birthday party.  It was a grand time with great live music,  good food,  lots of laughs and memories being made. ((We adhered to all rules and regulations)) With all this I somehow  found time to design and write the pattern for some fingerless mitts that my grand son insists give him super powers. Don't remember that being part of the pattern, and if my grandson insists it must be so. I will have these written and for purchase in the next month or so. (super powers not guaranteed) Simple patterns, fancy or non fancy fibers, your choice. This pair pattern will knit up in an afternoon . I have been  rearranging my studio which of course means I put thing...
Hi ho fiber friends  it has been a week since my last blog Big thank you to those returning to read this weeks pomp with no circumstances and a big hello and welcome to first time readers. I wish to see a little light at the end of the tunnel please. So many things to chat about where to start ? How about we start the Pumpkin Mal, hosted by "Stitching The High Notes" and "Once Upon a Corgi"  I am inclined to do a peacock shawl I fell in love with. The yarn is a fingering weight in "Hocus Pocus" themed colors.  I just can’t seem to get out of my own tracks this week. I find  I am needing to order a-lot of items online for this particular project,as a lot of shops that are at lease and hour north or south of me don’t have the yarn I am looking for. Since " Hocus Pocus" is one of my all time favorite movies it must be that particular yarn.  Moving forward, I am working on some non knitting projects for an up coming birthday celebration my editor /...

Hi ho fiber friends it’s Been 7 months and 4 days since my last post I have been relatively busy and no excuses . I last posted Feb, in March I went to Vermont for 7 days and upon my return we were amidst a pandemic . I have been trying to play catch-up ever since. I, like most of the rest of the United States could hardly believe what was going on let alone try and adjust our lives to such a drastic change that seemed to happen over night. Even though forced to stay home a lot more than normal I never seemed to have the time to write let alone gather any thoughts that would make sense to any one other than myself. My editor / daughter probably would have thrown I the towel if I had written all the things running through my head at the time.                So now here it is, the beginning of September and I am able write with a little clearer mind and possible light at the end of the tunnel . All though many events this year in Califor...

Hi ho fiber friends  it has been a while since my last blog, What can I say life just sometimes takes a quick right turn and it takes a while to get back on track, Well I’m hoping that I'm back for a while now and I can catch you up. I have had some thoughts and some insight and even some suggestions from my editor and publisher (daughter) that besides including fun facts, photos and information about  brick and mortar shops , I should write about me or better phrased the things I make and sell and the projects I have on the needles with photos and what not. I have never been good when it comes to self promoting and it feels rather awkward So I am hoping once again ,  my editor/ publisher (daughter) will put on her super hero cape on to my efforts and make them more enjoyable to read (here’s hoping). Well, first my normal banter I am in California and stitches west is soon approaching so I will take photos, talk to people and give you the run down as best I...

Hi ho fiber friends, once again I am here and you are there where ever there may be,   my here is here but was there.  Confused yet ?       I have some pictures from another lovely shop called Knits and Knots. This shop is easy to get  to  and is located in South Lake Tahoe. There are lots of places nearby to grab a bite to eat. This shop is small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in fibers , notions and fun!  I did not get to stay at this shop long, though I did get to meet the   owner and her daughter both of whom are lovely.    They offer private classes when you want them, along with sit and knit days. . This shop is a participant in the upcoming Sierra yarn crawl. Which is an event I  hope you all will attend. There will be 11 participating shops with lots of fun  and prizes. Well, that’s all for now my little fiber people. When life gives you lemon...
