Hi fiber friends I am coming to you from Minden Nevada This great yarn shop called pioneer yarns. It’s an amazing shop, close to the Sierras, Lake Tahoe, Kirkwood,  Carson city area. The shop has had a new owner since 2005 and in their new location for 6 years  it is a fabulous shop lots of parking easy to get to and yes they are part of the years yarn crawl happening in september. Dates and shops info will be included in my next post. Kim; one of the people on staff, is very very helpful and personable.  She is so kind and shares a genuine interest in every aspect of your quest or project. Kim will suggest patterns and guide you through Pioneers wonderful selection of fibers,  yarns, and needles to find the perfect match  for any project you wish to begin.   There are two great places to sit and knit in the shop. Either at the sofa and chairs in the front of the shop or the back section of the store has a great work table...

Hello fiber friends, Have I got a shop to share with you, Fillory in San Jose ca   what can I say except fabulous!! This shop  has beautiful colors, textures, and projects as far as the eye can see .  The staff is amazing and so helpful , there is never a wrong question to ask and if they don’t have the answer ( not likely ) .   They will  find it for you. Classes are going on all the time and the staff are knitters of all things, which makes it a wonderful place to bring all your questions and ask for help. The array of colors is beautiful and the needle variety is such that any size you need you can find here.  They even have birch wood dpn’s   (I had to have a set of those!). Fillory has a wonderful large table for classes or just to sit and knit.  The photos o f these two lovely ladies, has a great story. Hi fiber friends,  I’m back from the great state of Oregon , how I hate to leave there. Such a beautiful place. Trees , farms , country side . The drive was long, but the amazing scenery makes the trek a little less mundane. The Shasta dam was beautiful and all of the fields and trees were breath taking. A nyway,  The reason for this blog is the needle work, Cross stitch shop. Yes , I said it and I meant it .  Mindy, the sole owner, has had her shop for 47 years. That's right, 47 glorious thread filled years.  How does she do it!?   Mindy herself is simply  wonderful!  Genuinely helpful, kind and truly generous with her time.    Mindys' is filled with eye candy everywhere you turn. Threads on every wall and  one whole section devoted to all things Halloween . While Mindys'carries  primarily needle point and a wide variety of amazing cross stitch patterns.
